Mark Coltrin began his career in the telecommunications industry in the late 1990s. He was recruited by Ameritech New Media (now AT&T) as a Customer Consultant, where he was part of a door-to-door sales team helping customers transition to new cable television, internet, and phone services.
After relocating to the Washington, DC area, Mark joined Starpower LLC, then a division of Pepco (now Astound Broadband). He later continued his career with Muzak, now part of Mood Media, before joining Sky Television, where he worked alongside Jim Koshuta for the next 17 years. Building on decades of industry experience and trusted relationships, Mark eventually founded Coltrin Consulting LLC.
Today, Mark brings more than 26 years of experience in telecommunications, internet, phone, cable television, business development, and strategic consulting. Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation for delivering results on projects of every size โ from small business initiatives to large-scale engagements. His experience spans the Washington, DC region and beyond, helping organizations grow through practical strategies, strong partnerships, and effective execution.

Now rebranded as Astound. During his tenure at StarPower LLC โ a Pepco company โ most of the larger video and internet projects were designed, implemented, and delivered under their umbrella. From Dark Fiber to Video, PRI, and backup services, Mark was hands-on through every phase of these large-scale deployments across the DC Metro region.
Now rebranded as Mood Media. During his tenure at Muzak, working alongside Dish Network executives, Mark put together a go-to-market strategy for video services built upon Dish Network's music service as the main platform. He developed, planned, and delivered a winning strategy for current clients โ bridging established music infrastructure with emerging video delivery services.
DIRECTV Dealer and Reseller. In seventeen years working hand in hand with Jim Kosuta at Sky Television Inc., Mark Coltrin built one of the most extensive project portfolios in the DC Metro region.
